The National Forensic Sciences University, Nagpur Campus, is a prominent and rapidly expanding center for forensic and allied sciences education in Maharashtra. It was established to bridge the gap between law enforcement and scientific investigation in the region. The NFSU Nagpur Campus represents a strategic expansion of the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), an institution created by an Act of Parliament as the world's first and only university dedicated exclusively to forensic and allied sciences, operating under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The campus is intended to serve as the definitive Regional Centre of Excellence in Central India, directly fulfilling a national mandate to integrate scientific investigation into the criminal justice system. Its core philosophy, "Education through Investigation," underscores its role as a strategic asset for implementing the new mandate requiring mandatory forensic investigation in offenses punishable by seven years or more. The campus is currently operating from its transitional facility at I.T. Park, S. Ambazari Road, Near BSNL Exchange, Subhashnagar, Nagpur. A state-of-the-art permanent campus, featuring advanced laboratories, research facilities, and training infrastructure, is under construction on 50 acres of land at Chicholi Village, Kamptee Tahasil, approximately 15 kilometers from Nagpur City.
